The Library and Documentation Center’s (SBD) collection at the Faculty of Law comprehends more than 325.000 bibliographic items (statistics from 2001), including:

• 161.087 books
• 24.700 off-prints
• 5.993 theses (LL.M., Ph.D. and Professorship-Theses)
• 135.000 volumes from 2.375 different journals
• 3.425 multimedia items (microforms, videotapes, CD-ROM etc.)

The collection encompasses different rooms in the main building. You can search our catalogues in four ways (see menu on the left):

• Local Catalog (Law School): to find an item located at one of the libraries in the Faculty of Law
• Global Catalog (University): to find an item located within the University of São Paulo, including all Faculties
• Journal Articles (printed): to find a journal article in a printed journal in our collections (this option is available only in Portuguese. English instructions are available.
• Journal Articles (online): to find a journal article in one of the online services subscribed by the Faculty of Law (Hein Online, Periódicos Capes, JSTOR, SibiNet etc.). To use these services you must be using a computer located in our building (professors can use these services also through a VPN - Virtual Private Network).
